Renaming PC from TS

Hi

There are a lot of posts regarding renaming PC within the TS, but most posts jump between TS and MDT

I do not use MDT at present but do use SCCM 2007.

This is mainly for Windows 7 Pro 64bit, but if it works on XP also this would be great

Can someone help me with a simple way to do this, and where in the TS the different parts or the process are inserted.

Oh, I want to rename to SERIAL NUMBER, I should have said
